But what you might missed, is that, you need to keep those jeans in best shape to maintain its' formal-looking character, otherwise, you just going downhill for the so-called casual style, once again. To keep your jeans last longer, there are some points you need to pay notice to, so the fabric wont bleeding and stretching out. Here is the list:
Wash, Not Stew
Most people believe that washing your jeans with hot water, could resulting a cleaner result for their jeans. Well, such myth needed to be bashed away. If you pay attention to your jeans' washing instruction, there are some limitation regarding the water temperature, and most of them are suggesting a warm degree of water, not hot. Washing your jeans in hot water will bleed your pants, shrink the size, and loosen the seam. The worst case is, you ended up with a pair of jeans that isn't as comfort as it was for you to wear because the length of the legs aren't equal.
Hang, Not Folded
Another important thing to pay attention to, is about how to store your jeans in your closet or wardrobe. If you are used to fold your jeans and stack them with your other attire, you should change that habit of yours. If you fold your jeans, and leave it in your wardrobe for too long, you will get that yellowish line on your jeans. No more clean and fresh looking jeans for you, then.
Washing Machine is Your Jeans Arch-enemy
Although washing your jeans with washing machine is quite practical, saves lots of energy and your time, but that's not how you should treat your jeans. Especially for those stretch and dip-dye jeans, your washing machine is a catalyst for your jeans destruction mechanism; the fabric would getting loose and the seams eventually will fall apart.
Not Too Much of Detergent
So you use your jeans for some field-type duty, and yes, they get so dirty. But don't quickly put too much of detergent for the washing process. Nowadays, it is common for detergent/soap to contains a substantial amount of bleaching agent. This chemical compounds has the effect to fade your jeans color. Let alone the corrosive nature of this agent, which would dissolve the seam. If you do find a stain on your jeans, when you're hand-washing them, don't immediately use any brush to rub it off. Instead, use a soft sponge (just like the one you have for your dish-washing).
Okay, this last one is just a tip from me, who wear jeans almost everyday and getting everywhere.
To keep your jeans, less-attractive to dust and dirt, after you finally finished washing your jeans, prepare a bucket of fresh water and drop 4-5 teaspoon of vinegar. Soak your jeans for 5-10 minutes in it. This home-recipe method have been keeping me have a longer-lasting cleaner jeans for everyday work.
